Think Like A Champion
Your child is special. Only 8% of high school athletes go on to participate in college sports. Your child has dedicated themselves to become the best athlete they can be. This program is going to teach your child how to become a champion off the field.
The world your children are growing up in is very different from the one you grew up in. Remember when we were kids, life was simple and technology was non-existent. Due to the advances in technology and other external factors, this has changed the way young people communicate and think. Our mission with this program is to help your child think more effectively.
After speaking with hundreds of college athletes over the last few months, we quickly recognized a common theme – college is not equipping them with practical skills or preparing them to handle life after college. Our research suggests college is primarily focused on becoming book smart. From our experience, this is only a small piece of a person’s intelligence. The gaps we have identified as most prevalent:
- The ability to effectively communicate
- Responsibility, accountability and respect
- Thinking critically – how to connect the dots
- Other types of intelligence – common sense, street smarts, decision making, etc.
This 8-week program will challenge college athletes to improve their skillset and empower them to become well rounded. We have intentionally self-paced to give college athletes the chance to digest the content and have time to complete the activities. Topics will include self-assessment evaluations, learning how to effectively communicate, preparing for a job interview, and thinking critically. At the end of the program, they will understand the practical skills needed to be successful in life and will receive an individualized roadmap.
